Southern Teton Area Rapid Transit (START), the transit agency serving the Town of Jackson and Teton County, Wyoming, has launched contactless mobile ticketing solution, in partnership with Masabi, Transit and EQUANS.

Masabi has installed ticket validators on START buses and deployed an account-based ticketing system powered by the Justride platform. The system features fare capping.

A single Mobility-as-a-Service (MaaS) app, the Transit App, will allow ticket purchases, trip planning, and real-time vehicle tracking.

Equans has provided NAVINEO Integrated Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) including; Computer Aided Dispatch/Automatic Vehicle Location (CAD/AVL) featuring real-time dispatch functionalities for detour or trip cancellation information, Automatic Voice Annunciation (AVA) supplying data for next stop signage and announcements, as well as real-time passenger information via the Transit app, and a link to General Transit Feed Specification (GTFS/GTFS RT).

Equans’ performance reporting module will enable START to retrieve, summarize, and analyze performance data for internal use and planning, as well as for reporting to the National Transit Database (NTD) including vehicle revenue miles, vehicle revenue hours, passenger miles traveled and unlinked passenger trips.
